Lake Manyara National Park

Two famous spectacles in Lake Manyara national parks are the tree climbing lions, which spend most of the day spread out along the branches of acccacia trees six to seven meters above the ground, and tree climbing python.

Nestling at the base of Great Rift Valley escapment the park is noted for its incredible beauty. As vistors enter the gate they pass into the lush forest, home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. Futher along, the forest opens into woodland, grass land, swamps and beyond.

The soda lake itself covers 390² km and is home to over 4000 species of bird, including flamingo, pellican, storks, sacred ibis, commorants and egyptian geese. The park is particulary noted for its huge heards of buffalo and elephants. There is alsog irrafe, impala, hippo and a great variety of smaller animals.
